As a lawyer, you will probably communicate the results of your research both orally and in writing. Your audience will vary according to the occasion. Typically, your audiences may include clients, witnesses, other lawyers, and judges or a panel of judges.

The interactions that you have with your audience will have several aims, including communicating your thoughts and arguments clearly and coherently. Importantly for lawyers, your communication skills have another aim: to persuade.
