Increase Memory Permanently PDF Print E-mail

The brain is often compared to a muscle. Without continuous training, muscles can sag over time. The same is true with our brain. We need repeated mental training to maintain our brain’s abilities. Techniques to increase memory should be done throughout your lifetime to increase memory permanently.

Never let your curiosity die

Children have unending questions on many things. Once adults answer one question, most children follow up with “Why?” Although humans are naturally curious, this characteristic declines as we age. So to keep your memory alert, maintain your interest in many things, especially the ones that have a great impact on your life, like education. If you find yourself bored with a certain subject, find a way to stimulate your curiosity. Asking yourself “why things are the way they are” may arouse your interest in that subject helping you to stay focused while your teacher is giving a lecture.

Stay Focused

Our tendency to forget doesn’t always mean a faulty brain, but rather a faulty attention span. There are three parts to the creation of a memory: encrypting of information, depositing the information in a memory, and retrieval of the information later. Failing to pay attention to something distorts the initial encrypting process. It’s obvious that if you don’t focus on something, your brain cannot encrypt it accurately.

Arrange your ideas

Office workers usually organize their documents in a logical way. They put related files in the same folder and make use of alphabetically arranged labels. This makes retrieval of documents a lot easier. The same is true with our memory. Logically arrange the information you want to retain. For instance, if you have a long shopping list, make it easier to remember by dividing the items into groups (vegetables, meat, beverages, toiletries, etc.). Your brain will be able to encrypt the smaller groups more easily.

Draw mental pictures

Draw mental pictures of things you want to remember. The process of visualization requires the activity of many different parts of the brain, which will ensure that the memory is more firmly stored.

Strengthen information already in the brain

This can be done by reviewing. After learning something new, set a time to review what you have studied. Academic books usually include a chapter summary. Don’t overlook it! Instead, use the chapter summary and answer the questions in the review to strengthen the information and help your brain begin the process of recall. Talking about what you have learned is another excellent way because it creates even more connections to the information.

Memory Software

Memory software is a fine memory tool too. There are numerous memory softwares that you can choose from. Memory softwares have different designs so make sure that the one you want to buy can supply what you need. You can check Ultimate Memory Software if it will suit your needs.

Remember, achieving ultimate memory is not for a short period of memory training. Rather it requires life-time training and discipline.
