Get Your Memory Skills Back With These Steps PDF Print E-mail

Before locking the door of your house when going outdoors, you might ask your companion these questions: “Have you turned off the stove?” “Have you closed the windows?” or “Have you turned off the lights?” Common phrases heard among students on a university campus include the following: “I forgot what I reviewed last night.” “What did our teacher say earlier?” “Darn, I can’t memorize all this information!” Certainly at some point in your life you experienced one or both of these scenarios.

Achieving the ultimate memory skills you want can be easy. While many may think being able to remember everything is impossible, you can improve your memory using some easy steps - and by first remembering that the brain can be taught to remember better.

Attaining an ultimate memory is possible by helping your brain to function well by doing memory skills. Here are some steps to get your memory skills back:

M- Make an effort to remember. The brain needs some assistance to be able to retrieve the memory that you want to remember. Keep your mind focused, be optimistic, and think positively - these will help your brain stay calm and receptive.

E- Energize your brain through rest and sleep. Lack of sleep and rest can really affect your memory skills. You might find you are unable to have an ultimate memory because your brain is not well rested. So have enough sleep, about 8 hours a day.

M- Memorize the meaning. The more you understand the meaning of a concept, the more easily you can recall it. In studying your notes, you can easily memorize things when you know the meaning of what you are learning. There is a great difference between memorizing and understanding, but they are two sides of the same coin and both are necessary. In addition, good understanding will help your memory skills in recalling formulas, details from your reading materials, and much more.

O- Oil such as fish oil will help. Fish oil contains Omega 3- fatty acids. According to Dr. David Horrobin, a pioneer fatty acid researcher, omega-3’s make up 8% of the brain. Moreover, they have been proven to prevent memory problems and increase a person’s learning ability.

R- Recite your thoughts. Verbalizing things will help you to remember information you want to retrieve. This memory skill can reinforce synaptic connections and provide you with immediate benefits.

Y- Your life, your game. Enhancing your memory can be simply fun and exciting if you include playing games such as puzzles, visual games, memory, adventure and many more in your memory-building routine. These games can enhance your concentration, memory, agility and strategic abilities.

All of us want to have an ultimate memory and just by practicing the memory skills outlined above, you can be assured that you can get the ultimate memory you have been wishing for. If you want more tips and skill suggestions, look for a good memory improvement software system like Ultimate Memory.
