An order submitted through this website is only a request for services. We do not accept the order or agree to provide the requested services until we have sent you a final written confirmation of the terms, conditions and costs of the order, and you have agreed in writing to those terms, conditions and costs.
04 No offer or guarantee of work
An "application" to join our network is only a request, by you to us, to consider your suitability for membership. No offer of employment is made, or should be interpreted as having been made, and registration as a member of our network is no guarantee of work.

There are inherent risks transmitting data over the Internet. Although we strive to protect such information, we cannot guarantee the security of the information you send us. You transmit information to us at your own risk.

If a provision in these terms and conditions is invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be 'read down', if possible, so that it will be valid and enforceable. 13 Governing law
These terms and conditions will be governed and interpreted according to the law of the Australian Capital Territory.
14 Privacy
When you visit this website, our service provider makes a record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes: your server address, your top level domain name (for example, .com, .gov, .au, .uk), the date and time of your visit to this site, the pages you accessed, the previous site you visited and the type of browser you use. No attempt will be made to identify you or your browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect our service provider's logs.
We will record your email address only if you send us a message. It will be used only for the purpose for which you provide it and will not be added to a mailing list. We will not use your email address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it, without your permission.

Competitions terms and conditions
01 Agreement
By entering a competition, entrants agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time without notice. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure they have read, understood, and agreed with the terms and conditions currently in force.
02 How to enter
Entrants must complete an online form on the competitions page. All fields must be completed. The entrants' details must be true and correct.
03 No cost to enter
Entry into the competition is free.
04 Game of skill
The competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner; each entry will be judged individually by Research One.
05 Who may enter
Only residents of Australia and New Zealand may enter. Employees of Research One and their immediate families are ineligible.
06 Multiple entries allowed
Multiple entries are allowed as long as each entry is submitted separately using Research One's online competitions form.
07 Closing date
The competition closes on the date specified on the competitions page.
08 The judges
The competition will be judged by a staff member or members appointed by Research One.
09 Judging criteria
Different criteria (as specified on the competitions page) may apply to different competitions. But typically the winning entry will be the most original and creative entry, as determined by the judge(s).
10 Decision is final
The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
11 Notification and publication of winner
Research One will notify the winner by email. Research One may also publish the winner's name and entry on this website. Each entrant grants Research One the right to publish their name and entry, in whole or in part.
12 Winner to provide contact details
Within 7 days of being notified that they have won the competition, the winner must claim their prize by providing their mailing address and confirming their name.
13 Proof of ID and residency
Research One may require the winner to prove their identity and residency.
14 The prize
There will be one prize of $200 AUD.
15 Prize forfeited if not claimed
If the winner does not claim their prize within 7 days of being notified that they have won, the judges may in their discretion declare the prize forfeited and award the prize to another entrant.
16 Entries become Research One's property
In consideration of the chance to win the competition, each entrant, immediately upon entering the competition, irrevocably assigns all their rights in their entry or entries (including all intellectual property rights) to Research One, without charge to Research One. Entrants agree that Research One may freely use any entry in whatever way Research One decides, free of any claim whatsoever.
17 No liability whatsoever
Research One will not be liable for any loss whatsoever (including, without limitation, indirect, special, or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, or injury that is suffered (however so caused) in connection with the competition or accepting or using any prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law (in which case, liability is limited to the minimum liability legally allowable). Without limiting the generality of this clause, Research One accepts no responsibility for late, lost, or misdirected entries.
18 Indemnity
By entering the competition, entrants agree to indemnify Research One against all claims, demands, proceedings, costs (including legal costs), expenses, damages, awards, judgments, and any other liability whatsoever wholly or partially arising directly or indirectly in connection with the competition.
19 Privacy
Research One will collect and use entrants' details only for the purpose of the competition. Research One would use the information for a secondary purpose only if the entrant consented to such use, or where the entrant would reasonably expect Research One to use or disclose the information, or where Research One is required or authorised by law. Entrants can request access to, and deletion of, the personal information Research One holds about them by emailing Research One.
